Get ready to start exploring

Culinary Guides of Copenhagen is convinced that we are located in the food capital of the world. There are dozens of acclaimed restaurants by Michelin and dozens of up-and-coming ones too! The chefs often move around, pushing each other to reach new levels and concepts. Innovation and quality are the name of the game.

The taste of history and culture

We strive to include the cultural and historical aspects surrounding the story of the foods you will taste. Both locals and visitors will find these excursions exciting, informative, and delicious! Our food ecosystem is so dynamic that a visit from one year to the next will always offer something new!

The types of tastings that you will experience are made up of classics, based on cheese, meats and sweets and new sustainable offerings that may surprise you. Often in small portions served outside, but in some instances indoors servings. Local beers, wine, smoothies and kombucha are also part of the offerings to quench your thirst. After the tour you should be quite convinced that you indeed have gotten a taste for the kingdom of Denmark and indeed Nordic cuisine.

We offer tours all over Copenhagen but also outside of the city. There are also opportunities to visit the islands of Fyn and Bornholm. We have wine and gourmet tours in several locations on Sjælland (Zealand) and Southern Sweden,

The magic of the locals

To get you close to the locals, get near the magic in the ordinary and enjoy the quality of our simple way of life, we usually do a lot of walking. We aim to limit the length that you will walk to 4 km or about 2.5 miles. Normally, the tours including stops, visits and tastings will not last longer than 4 hours. Some tours may last longer; especially the tours on the islands will be longer due to the distance between locations; some are a full day (6.5 hours).

Tour size is considerably smaller than normal commercially produced offerings. We endeavor to limit our tours to 12 persons, normally we suggest no one under 18 years old as many of the tours offer alcohol. Having a group of this size or less will help ensure that you get an intimate understanding of what you are hearing and can appreciate the tasting. It also helps us to get access to good service and spaces at the chosen locations.

What People Are Saying

“I was part of a private tour for former employees of The East Asiatic Company, Copenhagen. The tour was focused on the harbor area of Copenhagen. Cathy had done a thorough research of the company and its 100+ years of relationship with the historic area around the former harbor of Copenhagen. She was a very informative guide and I learned quite a few things that I did not know of before, including fun anecdotes. I can highly recommend Cathy as your guide.”
